Yin Yoga-$20
YIN YOGA is a gentle practice targeting the “yin” tissues of the body and the energy meridians.
Muscles are elastic tissues and respond to repetitive motion and heat (of more vigorous or “yan” styles of yoga) to release and lengthen. Whereas tissues like tendons and ligaments are plastic, requiring time and passivity in a pose to conform to a new shape or length.
In this class we address both.
We DO fewer postures so that we can BE in them longer, cultivating presence and compassion with the sensations that arise when we give them the space and breath to do so.
Optimally this is a deep and relaxing practice. And Nature is a great place for it.
Props are not required; however, If you have some kind of mat, bring it, along with socks, a blanket, even a pillow and scarf if you have them. You’ll do fine without them, but you’ll appreciate having what you bring for creative collaboration with your body as we play.
