Come share this enchanted land with us!
Santa Fe Tree House Camp is a non-profit with the mission to protect and steward a 156 acre wilderness preserve and to welcome youth and people of all ages and backgrounds for eco-camping retreats, summer camps and experiential education for the appreciation and awareness of nature, the arts, ecology, and sustainability principles and practices. We are a NON-SMOKING facility and teach everyone who visits how to recycle and compost. We request that our campers not bring “single-use” plastic water bottles to the site.
Nature Immersion
Whether you are visiting us from nearby Santa Fe or Albuquerque or you have traveled half-way around the world, we offer you tranquility and the deep healing of nature.
Accommodations include tree tents, campsites, rustic tree house style cabins, our Serenity Yurt, Mustang Bunkhouse, Singing Nail Cabin (the founders original homestead) and Zen House Cottage- it’s own house with a kitchen, bathroom and fenced in private yard.
Visitors of all ages are invited to relive the childlike wonder of sleeping amidst the trees. There are 7 tree house cabins of varying distances from the bathrooms and outdoor cooking area. These structures are all raised from the ground with openings for windows, and nestled amid the trunks and branches of ponderosa, piñon, and juniper trees.

Legacy
The founders of Santa Fe Tree House Camp, Charles and Senta Hoge, created a safe place for children to enjoy the outdoors. They encouraged the arts, music, animal and nature appreciation and respectful connection to all.

Leadership
Today, the camp is operated by Brad Childs and Ciana Grove through The Wilderness Institute, a nonprofit organization founded in 1984 that specializes in outdoor education, nature based retreats, and adventure experiences for personal growth. The Wilderness Institute provides wilderness experiences that foster community building and interdependence, increase environmental awareness, enhance self-esteem, and inspire others to protect the Earth while improving quality of life.
Brad and Ciana manage all aspects of Santa Fe Treehouse Camp operations, including program development, land stewardship, and guest services. Under their leadership, the camp has been recognized as one of Hipcamp’s Top 50 Campgrounds in America, awarded Best Campground in New Mexico, and named a finalist for Best Treehouses. They are also Hipcamp Star Hosts and maintain Airbnb SuperHost status reflecting their commitment to sustainability, hospitality, and meaningful nature immersion.
